I wish (A poem)
Share
I remember the exact moment I wrote this. This was one of those poems that I just wrote down in one go and it flowed perfectly. I was 13 when I wrote this, in Estes Park Colorado with my Mom, and the idea just hit me.
I'd already struggled a lot with self-confidence, and I realized that while I was having my own insecurities, people would compliment something about me every now and then that I would miss entirely since I was so focused on all of the "imperfect" things about me.
This poem is a great reminder that we are all beautiful in our own ways, and we should be grateful for the beauties given to us, as we are made from God's image.
This is a poem from my book, "Fill Your Mind With Flowers".
